This is a very good question. We wondered ourselves whether or not this site, which is truly a blog, would add value.
Here is the rationale:
- Our other sites, such as the Rickert & Ringholz Musical Instruments main site (www.fiddleandbowblog.com) and our Musical Instrument Inventions & Designs... site focus on what exists now rather possibilities of what might be.
- The intent of our other sites is to inform and market what we already have on the market or what will be ready for market very soon.
- Our other other sites are not set up for soliciting a lot of customer feedback, as we generally solicit such feedback in-person, over the telephone or via email.
While we allow comments on the postings on our other sites, we get very few comments. We believe that this is because people sense that these sites are really for information dissemination and the role such dissemination plays in marketing.
The Intent and Focus of this Blog:
- It's all about the NEW and the FUTURE rather than what was new last year or even last month.
- A focus on what might be...this includes ideas (ranging from "half-baked" to "almost done", new instrument experiments in progress and instrument designs for which we have, or one reason or another, not yet "green-lighted" for production and sales.
- Active solicitation of customer feedback, using the latest online tools we can put to use for this purpose.
